Vintage bonnet pattern up-sizing

While free patterns for crochet/knit hats abound on the internet, do a search for crochet (or knit) bonnets, and you get....almost nothing.  I stumbled across a beautiful vintage bonnet pattern, but, alas, it was for a newborn and I needed it for a 1 year old.  But, I was able to modify it to make it bigger, and voila!  Seeing as the original poster was kind enough to share hers, I decided to share mine (with permission!).  I'm new at pattern writing, so if there's any glaring errors in phrasing, stitches, etc, let me know!

Here's mine in action (Thank you Awe Snap Photography for sharing this photo!)

Here's the original image from HattingMadlyCrochet.

Magic circle, ch. 2, 10 hdc in circle.
Row 1: Ch. 2 (does not count as first hdc), 2 hdc in each st. (20 hdc)
Row 2: Ch. 2, *1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next*.  Repeat ** around.  (30 hdc)
Row 3:  Ch. 2, *1 hdc in next 2 st, 2 hdc in next*  Repeat ** around (40 hdc)
Row 4:  Ch. 2, *1 hdc in next 3 st, 2 hdc in next * Repeat ** around (50 hdc)
Row 5:  Ch. 2, *1 hdc in next 4 st, 2 hdc in next*  Repeat ** around (60 hdc)
Row 6: Ch. 2, hdc in next 53 st.  Ch. 2, turn (53 hdc)
Row 7: hdc across.  Ch. 2, turn.
Rows 8-15: repeat row 7
Row 16: hdc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 17: Sc, *sk next 2 sts, 5 dc in next, sk next 2 sts, sc in next*.  Repeat ** around.  Finish off.

Ribbon:  Cut 2 x 24" white satin ribbon for sides.  Loop through corner, pull ends through loop, and straighten out.

Lace:  Cut 40" of lace and thread through hdc spaces in last row.  Trim ends even

Thank you to HattingMadlyCrochet for allowing me to modify and publish this pattern.  She has the original, newborn size pattern here:
